Bounded DataSet slow data updation problem

We are using a third party control C1FlexGrid to display the real time
data. The data is received from a server on a different thread,
processed and then stored in a dataset table. This table is binded to
the C1FlexGrid via an extended DataView that calls BeginInvoke whenever
the data is updated to update the grid (GUI thread).

The problem is that this whole process is taking too much time. Many
time the user complains that the message we are showing to him is very
old.

Please suggest if a better approach can be adopted. The requirement is
that every message needs to be shown on to the user rather than
skipping some messages and updating the grid every 2 or 3 seconds.

Any help will be appreciated?
