Copy group membership error - 80072035

I have some code to copy the group membership from one user to another.

I am getting the following error when I am adding a user to a group. It
seems to be when I am committing the updates back to the directory. I have
shown my code below, the copy from and copy to users have been connected to
successfully.

For Each grp as String In deFromUser.Properties
If Not deToUser.Properties("memberOf").Contains(grp) Then
deToUser.Properties("memberOf").Add(grp)
End If
Next

deToUser.CommitChanges()

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
