I want to be asble to pass the windows identity from my web applivcation to
my web service hosted on the same computer.
My situation is this: Intranet scenario. Web server WIN2K3, clients all
IE6.0
Currently have windows logins turned on both application and service.
ASp.Net uses authentication mode=" Windows"
identity uses impersonation=true using a specifiic username and password.
Both application and service are configured this way
Ideally, I would like to poass the calling user's identity to the service.
As the service and the app are on the same machine, I did not think I needed
the "Account is sensitive and cannot be delegated" setting for the user
turned off.
I have found that by calling the service using the new async feature, I can
pass the calling user's credentials, not the identity of the application.
However, this only works in the development environment.
What do I need to do to make this scenarion work? Is there a better way?
