Consume Axis Web Service with DataHandler Type

Trying to consume with a VB.Net client a Java Axis web service that returns a
DataHandler type.

After much searching on the internet -- no clues found.

Any ideas on how to do this?

Thanks. TomB

DC,

Thanks for the info. That tells me there is no direct conversion for a
datahandler type.

Still seeking a way to get the data from an axis server that is supplying
via a datahandler.

Has anyone solved this problem of having a .Net client attempting to Get/Put a file where the Web Service uses the JavaX DataHandler type?

I have begun experimenting with web services, and I created some simple web services in C# and was able to install them with IIS and create an equally simple C# client to consume them. My next experiment was to use Python to consume these same web services, and even though I am able to get Python to consume web services from a variety of sources (Apache SOAP, Glue, AXIS), I cannot get web services created with MS.NET to work. Actually,...

I can't seem to find a reference nor any helpful threads on this topic. I've gotten the following error in two circumstances: 1. A complex type has nested within it another complex type, in the "Russian doll" style of schema design, where the nested type is local and anonymous (not a separate global type). 2. A complex type has nested within it a simple type which is derived through restriction with at least one facet, again nested,...

Hello all, I want to create a .NET-based web service that can accept dime-based attachments from a java (Axis)-based client. I have searched for examples that look like this scenario, but haven't found any. I have created the service in C#, here is the code: HttpSoapContext.RequestContext.Path.MustUnderstand = false;

Summary: I have been trying to make requests of a web service provided by Axis using a dotnet client with code generated by wsdl.exe and have been getting exceptions when trying to process the response. As a result of seraching news groups I guessed that the SOAP response defines an array element in a way that causes the dotnet deserialization routines to put the content in a generic object array (object) BUT the content is supposed to...

Hello, I have a set of web services running on Java server that are exposed through axis 1.2.1. I can invoke these services in browser and through a java test client. However, when I try to consume them in VB .NET I get objects with nothing in them. Interestingly, if I call a webservice that returns a string, then it all works fine. I have pasted the wsdl file for review. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I used the...

I call ASP.NET WebService method from Java client (axis) - call contains file as attachment. This is a repost, with additional information. I have a Net 2.0 client (C# Winform) calling an Axis web service. The .NET client can authenticate, create requested objects, serialize the objects and send. These are received without issue on the Axis server. The .NET client can also receive responses from the Axis web service when the response is a single value type (long, string, etc), or an array of value types. However if an object...

I am calling an Axis web service from a Net 2.0 client. To be helpful, the developers on the Axis side sent a test client that they created, with snippets below. What I am trying to do is add a document to a workplan object, and return the object. I can return the object okay, but do not see how I can do this with .NET. I was expecting something like an attachfile method that returns an array of bytes. I have the WSE 3.0 installed.

I wonder if you can help me - I'm new to this, and working in a project that has already been configured to work with Axis. We have a Java project built with the Spring framework, in order to provide webservices for access via SOAP. As I understand it (ie not very well!) Axis works to accept these SOAP messages from the client and transform them into calls on our Java methods, and do the reverse with the responses - cool! Which is excellent,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
