IBM AS400 DB2 Data connection driver for VB.NET (ADO.NET)

Hi,

Our company uses IBM AS400 and DB2 (version 4.5 I guess). I have to do some
report but I donot know how to access the AS400 DB2. I search IBM
unfortunately IBM site in mess. Can anyone tell me how to access AS400 DB2 so
I can use VB.NET for my application to create a report?

I also learn from IBM site that there is a DB2 Data Connection for Visual
Studio.Net and acts as IBM Explorer in conjunction with Server Explorer and
toolbar as we see left side of VS.NET. By the way I am using VS.NET 2003
version.

I thank you in advance and looking forward to see some result.

Regards.

There used to be an ODBC DB2 driver called "Shadow Direct" it was fast and
powerfull, but i am not sure if it ran on AS400, we used it on an IBM
mainframe

Hi guy

I use ClientAccess 5.2 version of AS400 DB2 application and configure the
ODBC.

I can see all tables in Server Explorer. I pul the table on to form and it
autonmaticaly created the connection and adaptor.

Now I want to use the ODBC but I never programmed before in VBNET. If you
can explain to me how to use the ODBC to retrive the data I will be more
appriciate.

Thank you for your kind reply.

Regards,
Niyazi
