Microsoft Application Blocks

Problem Scenario:

Microsoft Caching Application Block (MCAB) uses two kind of mode "InProc" and "OutProc" in storage settings.

Correct me if i am wrong.

InProc: No need to use remoting for CacheService. Individual application which references MCAB dll will maintain its own CacheService even if the storage is SQL Server/MMF (Memory Mapped File).

OutProc: CacheService will be maintained certralized by implementing the MCAB - CacheService class as remoting object. CacheService class will be exposed using server process. So the metadata of the CacheItem will be stored in one place.

When implementing the storage as singleton (in-memory), in OurOroc mode the CacheItem cannot be shared among different application.

Please do resond for this.

Thanks,
Manikandan S
