Links for Rich GUI best practices

Would anybody be able to point me in the direction of any links on rich GUI
best practices please? I would have thought that there has been enough time
for this type of resource to develop but have been unable to find anything.

As example, under VB6 it was easy to determine the best practice for
databinding - dont use it, it was crap! Just wondering if the approach that
I have evolved from using beta 2 up bears any resemblance to what everyone
else in the world is doing.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
