Scanned Documents

Joe
Anybody ever figure out how to use a web page UI to allow someone to upload
an image from a scanner?

I understand you can scan a document, save it on the hard drive - then via
the web UI you can upload the image somewhere and save it.

What I'm looking for is hitting a SCAN and UPLOAD button on the web page
that will interact with the scanner software, inititate the scan and
automatically upload it.

Joe,

You're touching on something rather sensitive when it comes to security. Is
the code on the Web page located on a Web server allowed to access hardware
on your local machine? You might want to look into creating an ActiveX
component that can do the access for you. The user then downloads and
install this ActiveX component on first use. Not exactly easy, but just a
thought... :-)
