VS2003 web app deployment project upsets root site

Hi,

I have an issues with my web app deployment project. The project actually
has an ASP.NET site and a web service site, which are both destined to be
virtual directories under a root website (by default the one on port 80).
When installed on a machine that has a default document for the root site of
xxxindex.html, this gets REPLACED by default.aspx and the application name
gets set to my application. I do not want the root site to be changed, but my
virtual directories should have the application name set, and the default
document should be set as I specified (which is NOT default.aspx). Does
anyone know why I am seeing these problems and is there anything I can do to
stop the root site being affected?

Thanks in advance
John Roper
