StreamingContextStates.Remoting ????

Hi...

I have a set of serializable objects in a remoting scenario, where
these objects are passed by value back from the server to the clients.
While serializing the objects to the client I want to be able to
selectively serialize data, but while serializing the object in the
server itself... lets say for writing to disk i want to be able to
serialize the whole object graph.

The issue seems to be the StreamingContextStates enum of the
StreamingContext structure passed by the GetObjectDate function in
ISerializable. To be able to selectively serialize data on the object
i inspect the State property of the StreamingContext struct passed to
the object. The issue is that while the object is being sent over the
wire through remoting, the state is set to Other??? Why the heck does
StreamingContextStates have a Remoting state then????? I can
selectively do the serialization, but i wanted to know wheter MS will
change this state later on in the near future. If it does its gonna
break my entire app.

Any one have any ideas as to why Remoting state is there in the
StreamingContextStates enum and where it is being used and will the
remoting infrastructure begin using that state while remoting
serialized objects in the near future???
