How to create an Internet Shortcut off the Start menu?

My WinForms application requires a link to the actual application off the
start button as well as an icon that will take the user to my clients home
page.

How do I do this using the .Net Deployment Project?

I cannot simply add a short cut to the URL since you are forced to select
items from the project. Facing this I created a URL file and attempted to
include this in the project but it says "You cannot use an Internet address
here. Enter a path that points to a location on your computer or on the
network.".

I'm stuck! Any ideas?

Yea, the open dialog is trying to dereference the URL :S. Simple
workaround, rename your URL shortcut from .url to .whatever. Then add that
file, and set it's target name to .url.

Thanks! That worked a treat

One problem though... Initially my URL file was called WebSite.URL. I
renamed it to "WebSite.URL-Rename" as a reminder for me about what I have
done. When I added "WebSite.URL-Rename" to the project Visual Studio
crashed and prompted me to send the bug off to Microsoft.

I tried this a couple of times with the same result.

I changed the name to WebSite.txt and added that. It worked fine this time.
