DataGrid - Problem hiding child columns

I'm trying to allow the user to define which columns in a
datagrid should be hidden. I have gotten this to work
for a datagrid that has only one table in its dataset,
however, I can't get it to work when the dataset has two
tables (parent-child) and the user drills down to the
child table.

When they drill down, I want the appropriate columns
hidden based on the applications config file.

I have been using table styles and grid column styles.

Does anyone have any suggestions.
