I am working to ease updating of a html page by transforming 2 xml files. I
was going to use xslt for this and had bought 2 unopened books, wrox xslt
and o'reilly's xslt cookbook. But am now wondering if I am better of
learning XQuery instead?
Any thought and opinions would be appreciated.

Hi everybody,
i want to do the following. I have data in a XML-File.
Additionaly I have a XML Schema which defines valid values for every field
and alternative options.
Now I want to create a Stylesheet (for xalan for example) that creates
HTML respecting the actual valus in the XML file and the default data in
the Schema.
An example. The field 'color' has the alternatives red,green and blue

I posted this in the vb.net group on the 2/25/2004, but didn't get any
response. Here's attempt 2. Does anyone know of a more appropriate
place to post this?
One new piece of information: It fails on any method that it happens
to hit first. I juggled the methods a bit, and it just doesn't matter.
As soon as the XslTransform hits an extension function, it fails with
an invalid argument exception.

Hello!
With XSLT 2.0 in the pipeline at the W3 consortium, I'm wondering if
Microsoft is planning to support it with the next release of the .NET
framework? It sure looks like a promising set of technologies (especially
with the added functions to the transformations like grouping).
Any hints or pointers to internet ressources?!

We use XSLT extensively here at work and made the jump to XSLT 2 back
in January. Doing so increased productivity by leaps and bounds. Before
we made the switch, we were often doing "transformations" with Perl
because of XPath 1's lack of support for regular expressions. Now, it's

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
