Yesterday afternoon I was getting the following errors in a windows service:
'DatabaseManager.DataComponent', 'Error', '3 Errors:
Line: 0 - Metadata file 'ScriptingMethods.dll' could not be found

Hi:
My host will not allow me use a trusted connection or make registry setting,
so I'm stuck trying find a way to hide connection string which will be
stored in web.config file. If I encrypt string externally, can it be used
in it's encrypted form to connect to SQL Server? If I decrypt back to
string for use in connection string during runtime, I have to supply a key.
If I do that, hacker could use key to break encryption. How do I...

We have multiple ASP.Net web apps in development. As a standard we
are looking to go with SQL Server to hold state information.
Can we have the multiple apps all point to a single State DB? Or do we
need to install multiple instances of the State database on to the SQL
Server (one for each Web app)?

I'm using a third party hosting service. I presently have a Web Service on
this hosting service's server that loads and executes a native mode DLL.
This demonstrates that the hosting service has given me proper access to the
temporary directory c:/Windows/Microsoft.NET/Framework/V1.1.4322/Temporary
ASP.NET Files/root/...."
I believe it also demonstrates that I have access to c:/documents and
settings/xyz/aspnet/local settings/

Hi,
Some users on our domain can run our WCF application no problem. Some get
an unhandled exception error re: SOAP security negotiation. I'm wanting the
service to not be secure.. I just want anyone logged into our company domain
to be able to run the app. Can someone please tell me what tag I need added
to which of these files to make this error go away?

Hello,
I have a problem with our OnlineBackupService.exe. This is a Windows Service
which is built in .Net 1.1 and basically grabs files from the file system and
will try to upload them using WebServices.
The service is installed by default using LocalSystem account. The exact
problem is that sometimes this service is not allowed to resolve the target
webservice. This results in the following exception:
