Happy new year to all.
I have a strange error that I've been trying for a while now to
fathom..
Basically I have a hierarchy of state classes that I need to serialize
to XML. Some of them can contain Exceptions, so I've decided to
implement IXmlSerializable to get round the fact that Exception is not
serializable.

I've been having a problem with XML deserialization lately.
I needed to serialize and deserialze two objects which inherited from
Hashtable. Because IDictionary implementations cannot be serialized, I had
to take matters into my own hands by implementing a wrapper over the
Hashtable which implemted IXmlSerializable.

Hi
I have an object model which includes a Dictionary<> property which I am
trying to serialize/deserialize using IXmlSerializable as follows
class X:IDictionary<a,b>,IXmlSerializable)
What is happening is that the objects get persisted fine (checked using
notepad) and I can step through the WriteXml routine using the debugger.
However when trying to deserialize, my ReadXml routine is just not being

is that some of the XML data will need transposing during the convertion. My
