Is the Service name TYPE mandatory in WS-BP1.0

Hiya Fellows,

I know that there are a few implementations out there that actually writes
pure interface WSDL files. Therefore, the Service name is NOT mandatory for
such an implementation. Such a modification can be easily made: simply
remove the deployment information from the WSDL file by deleting the Service
Element. By doing that, one now has a pure Web service interface
description.

My question is if I do the above, will it conform to WS-Basic Profile 1.0 ?

Any help is appreciated.

When in doubt, always run a conformance tool. There are several out there:

Hey all - I'm having a really confusing problem concerning a web service. Right now, I have an application that needs to call a web service that does nothing but return "true" (this will obviously change once the program's fully built to actually do something, but for testing, it works). The only code I added to the service is below:

Hi, I have created a Java webservice which runs in IBM WebSphere appserver. I take the WSDL-file and create a VS.NET WinForm application and calls the service running on my PC and everything works fine. So I deploy the webservice on a remote machine (Linux box) and I get an error when calling the service. BUT: I can retrieve the WSDL and make a webreference in my VS.NET project, so obviously I (or more correct: My VS.NET project) am...

We are attempting to make a request to a web service (we will refer to it as XXXServices) hosted on a Web Logic server from a C# SOAP client. The server responds with a 401 Unauthorized error (that appears in plain text), and causes the client to crash. This C# code has been deployed both as an ASP.NET application and a WinForms app, each of which produced the same result. Further, moving the clients from a Windows XP machine to Windows...

My goal is to connect a WSE 3.0 client to a WCF asp.net hosted service, utilizing MTOM encoding and if at all possible, streamedRequest transfer mode. I am starting with a basic Hello World service. I have a classic textbook example of consuming a Web service. I'm using Visual Web Developer Express 2008 v9. I have a textbox, a listbox, and a button on my .aspx form. I'm trying to use the http://developer.capeclear.com/files/GlobalWeather.wsdl as my Web reference which looks good so far. But my code has some what will assurably be obvious flaws to many. You can see the WSDL at the above link. The method in that I am trying to use is...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
