How do I check in a Windows Forms app if any controls have changed? I have
a form that collects data, and I want to prompt the user if they try to exit
the app, or load a new file, without saving changes that have been made.
In MFC/Win32, you'd trap the WM_COMMAND/EN_CHANGE notification messages,
etc. But, this doesn't seem to happen in Windows Forms. I tried Spy-ing a
windows forms app, and the WM_COMMAND messages don't even get sent...

Using .Net Compact Framework, I have an ImageButton control (derived from the
Button control) this is wired to a click event. The click event's receives
the standard arguments (sender, e). How is it possible from within the click
event function to get the "name" property of the control? For example:
ImageButton ImageButton1 = new ImageButton();
ImageButton1.Click += new System.EventHandler(ImageButton1_Click);
.... code
private void...

i've used the sample code from msdn to create an encyption/decryption
assembly as found here:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnnetsec/html/SecNetHT10.asp
i'm able to encrypt and then decrypt data okay as in the following code:
// encrypt the data //
Encryptor enc = new Encryptor(EncryptionAlgorithm.TripleDes);
byte key = Encoding.ASCII.GetBytes("0123456789012345");

Hi guys!
I am a beginner with aspx (i have some background with .asp). And i am
trying tu use a 'code-behind' page in order to execute all transactions in
that page and leave as clean as possible the .aspx with the html.
As my start-point, i am building a login page. I put the textbox and submit
button on the page index.aspx; and, i put all the db validation on the page
maquinaria.vb.
on index.aspx i have this button:

Hi there,
When removing page children controls created dynamically
not in last-to-first order, the close button of the last
control looses its event wiring, even though the handler is
rewired on each postback. It needs one postback roundtrip
to "get it back".
Form has an "add panel" button. Using it I dynamically add
3 panels with a remove button on each, A B C, to the page.

Please help. I'm dying here and pulling out the last few remaining elements
of my hair over this.
I have built a form that will identify and authenticate users. I keep
getting the following error with the Form:
Compiler Error Message: CS0122:
'Sonar3.Controls.LoginControl.Button_Click(object, System.EventArgs)' is

In a sharepoint setup using smartpart to load our user controls using
enterprise blocks (data) we are getting some strange errors (logged to
the event log). We dont get the error all the time. When we get the
error CPU goes 100%
We have been through all we can think of, but have not been able to
locate the source to the error.
Any suggestions?

I'm just curious how you would handle this. In the cable industry, Comcast
is referred to as an "MSO" (multiple systems operator) meaning they own many
cable systems. Therefore a solution must be architected to accommodate
"System" as an entity. This means a table in the database named System, a
class System, a web form System, etc.
Since System is such a reserved word, how should we do this? To rename it
"CableSystem" would bug as...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
