I've run into an interesting problem, and seemed to have stumped 3
newsgroups and 2 other forums.
For some reason when I try to insert a record into a SQL table that has a
Text column, the returned autogenerated Identity is wrong (on the VB side).
This only occurs if the length of the value inserted for the text column is
>= 8002.
I've included a simple example below.

I am writing some code that passes two parameters to a store procedure. One
of the parameters is an output parameter. I am querying the DB using the
input value and returning a field from the result using the output parameter.
The issue is that when I run the ExecuteNonquery command I get the following
error:
'@shortLinkUrl' of type: String, the property Size has an invalid size: 0

Hi,
On the line where I'm assigning RecordCount to be the value of my output
parameter, I'm getting the generic "Object reference not set to an instance
of an object" error. I've isolated it down to this line, as the line of
code commented out just beneath it runs fine. Can anyone see why my

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
