confused very very confused

I'm trying to create a table that has a column named "timestamp"... for some
reason unknown to me... the statement barfs all over the "timestamp" section of
it and gives me

"ERROR: parse error near timestamp DATETIME NOT NULL"

I can rename the timestamp column and the create table statement will run
fine... Unfortunately the column has to be named timestamp... can anyone tell
me whats up with the word timestamp? Is it a reserved word or something????

create table event (sid INT UNSIGNED NOT NULL,
cid INT UNSIGNED NOT NULL,
signature INT UNSIGNED NOT NULL,
timestamp DATETIME NOT NULL,
PRIMARY KEY (sid,cid),
INDEX sig(signature),
INDEX time (timestamp));
