DNS setup

In a peer to peer network of 2 systems , is it possible for us to setup a DNS server in any one of the systems...IP address has been assigned to both systems statically..

If it is possible what all changes we have to make in named.conf file?? Which all services should be running??

it is possible to get up a dns.
there are a lot of services that help you set it up easily with just some changes being made to named.conf
i suggest to google for setting up dns and the distro you are using

An easier solution would be to modify the /etc/hosts file and statically assign the names to the ipaddresses in there.
