Commons-logging not found, logging through JDK logger

Hi all, I current have a java standalone thats suppose to be logging using commons-logging and log4j. However, its logging under JDK logger. I can verify that this JDK is not being selected by commons logging because commons-logging is not being recognised. Since I dont have any access to commons logging I can use its diagnostics debugging tool. The code outputs only the similar logs ie. log.severe, log.info and log.warn. I was wondering what settings i am missing for commons-logging, since this occured after a failed attempt to move my application to a new filepath.
