Auto increment in Oracle on Linux

Hi,
When i used to store the excel file into oracle database with one filed as autoincremental field. When i run this program in windows there is no problem,this is absolutely ruuning perfect.When i run this one Linux iam getting some problem like invalid number...............

SO PLZ HELP THIS IS VERY URGENT.I WILL B VERY THANKFUL IF U HELP ME..............

I have two questions for you:

1) where does Java come in? This is a Java forum after all.
2) I thought Excel was a Windows thingie; nobody expects Windows to handle
Linux's binutils either.

And where does Java come in? Are you using jdbc to connect to the Oracle database?
