That's very easy i fyou know your math. Just use the formula for it. If you need the value of euler's constant just call Math.E. Now write the code and post if you get a problem.

thanks a lot,

But how does java calculate Math.pow(e,a+ib) ???? i.e how can we calculate power of a Eulers constant e to a complex number???

It does not do that. You might want to use the series approximation for it.

Hey wait a minute,
Isn't cosh(ix) = cos(x)
and sinh(ix) = isin(x)

Both cos and sin are avalilable in the Math class.

have a look at the Jakarta project complex number class
http://jakarta.apache.org/commons/math/userguide/complex.html

in particular
http://jakarta.apache.org/commons/math/apidocs/org/apache/commons/math/complex/ComplexUtils.html#cosh(org.apache.commons.math.com plex.Complex)
