onclick= __doPostBack Event of HTML CheckBox

In my web form i am binding html check boxes based on Employee count.

<input type="checkbox" name="child2" id="child2" class="SelectThisChild">


for each check box i am adding onclick=\"__doPostBack method. and calling the method chk_select(object sender, EventArgs e)

i am able to do all the functionality i required in the above method, but unable to find the checkbox id and checkbox state.

my issue is after all process,my check box is not in checked state.Please kindly suggest the solution.
