Newbie question on HTA's

23 New Member
Hi,

I currently create Access 97 applications, with installing a frontend on local PC hard drives, and have the backend tables on a server. I use VBA to create functionality on the frontend interfaces.

I'm sure I'm not alone, but I'm trying to get round the old issue of how to update the user interface with as little trouble as possible, and had seen an application with an HTA extension. After reading a bit about it, I have a few questions and would really appreciate any assistance.

ps, if I've posted on wrong forum, just let me know.

Q1 Am I right in saying that I'll have to install on local PC's but then updates can be done as simply as a web page is done?

Q2 What enviroment and code do I use? Would I use something like Visual Studio with VB?

Q3 Iff Q2 is possible, can I create these without any knowledge or use of HTML?

My vision is that I create an HTA frontend, install on local PC hard drives 1 time only, have them linked to currently existing Access backends, and then updates wouldn't have to be re-installed every time on every PC. Is this possible?

thanks in advance...
Daryl
