List-Style. Dot

Hello,

Is it possible to make a list use a Dot character before each item?
Something like:
..item1
..item2
....

I have been searching list-style but I can't find an option to use a
character, in this case, a dot.

Thank You,
Miguel

"Glyphs are specified with disc, circle, and square. Their exact
rendering depends on the user agent."

As a practical measure, you can use list-style-image, the image
being a dot.
