Wordwrap problems

I have a sentence withing a paragraph that includes the word

M(odify)

On an 800x600 screen the word appears at the end of line. IE6 insists
on leaving the M on the end of the line and putting the (odify) on the
next line. I want this to be treated as a single word and not two
words. There is no space between the M and the ( in the source.

Any ideas how I can keep the word together on the same line?

This is naughty behaviour of Internet Explorer 6.
See http://www.cs.tut.fi/~jkorpela/html/nobr.html for help.
