how to repeat a background graphic except for the bottom 20 pixels

Hi,

I'm trying to have a repeating vertical graphic that repeats all the
way down my table except for the bottom 20 pixels, which I would like
to be blank -- white, if white is the default BODY background color.
So far, this is all I have ...

<TABLE align="center" BORDER=0 CELLPADDING=0 CELLSPACING=0>
<tr>
<td style="width:15px;
background-image:url('images/shadow-lt.gif');">&nbsp;</td>
<td content </td>
</tr>
</TABLE>

Problem is the left graphic goes all the way down, instead of stopping
short by 20 pixels. Thanks, -

Not sure what you mean here, but you could add a 20 pixel border to the
bottom of your table like this:

<TABLE align="center" BORDER=0 CELLPADDING=0 CELLSPACING=0
style="border-bottom: 20px solid green;">
<tr>
<td style="width:15px;
background-image:url('images/shadow-lt.gif');">&nbsp;</td>
<td content </td>
</tr>
</TABLE>

I've used green here but you can change that to white. I suggest you
don't use inline styles though. Set classes for your table and td
instead and reference them from an external stylesheet. Also you should
be looking at using divs instead of tables if this isn't a data table.
