Select and Inserting into two different databases

1 New Member
Hi all,

I am using DB2 v8.2 for windows.

I need to select a table from table 1 in database 1THEN inserting that select result into table 2 in database 2.

In DB2 Command Editor, you have to set a target database to have your SQL statement point to that database.. but, I have one single SQL statement that will be targeting two databases.

Your help is much appreciated.

Thanks.

Basically what you are looking for is federation. Look at this article http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/db2/library/techarticle/0203haas/0203haas.html
