db2 stored procedure not returning value with select into

1
I have

create procedure(out rowcount INT)
LANGUAGE SQL

BEGIN
select count(*) into rowcount from myTable;
END

execute the procedure results in:
--------------------------

Parameter Name : ROWC
OUNT
Parameter Value : -

Return Status = 0

So what gives? there is no value returned.

Trying
select count(*) from myTable;

returns 10 rows with db2 command line.

Any help is appreciated...

I would suggest you to refer to the samples that are shipped with DB2. You can find these samples at: SQLLIB/samples/sqlproc

Actually you need to assign some value to the output parameter in the stored procedure. If you want to return the complete table(output of select command), then you need to specify the "return resultset" clause.

Let me know if your issue is addressed.
