mainframe (7.1.1) lock escalation

didn't find a thread here, and a search of the Redbooks came up with
166; a bit too much to download.

Q: if default isolation is Row, does DB2 escalate through Page before
going to Tablespace?

When row locking is defined and then escalation occurs it goes to
tablespace, not page.
