Db2 Instance owner and SYSADM authority

Hi all,

i'm currently investigating DB2's security and found the following:
Env. DB2 ESE 8.1.6 on AIX 5.2.0.0

If you remove the instance owners userid from the AIX group which is
the current SYSADM_GROUP he loses his SYSADM authority - as expected.
But he still can use UPDATE DBM CFG eg. to assign a new SYSADM_GROUP.
I haven't found anything about this in the docs so : is this "works as
designed" or a flaw ?

TIA for any answer

Joachim
