PC -> Db2 Connectivity Question

This one should be an easy one for the community.

What sort of PC client software do I need for connectivity
to a DB2 database?

It appears DB2 Connect is special for PC/Unix Connectivity
to Mainframe DB2.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance,

If the DB2 server is UNIX, Linux, or Windows, you just need the runtime
client. You can get it free here (or one of the other clients):
http://www-3.ibm.com/cgi-bin/db2www/....d2w/report#V8

If your client ins on Windows, you want the widows client.

You can either use DB2 Connect Personal Edition (which runs on
each end-user's PC),

or

You can use DB2 Connect Enterprise Edition (which runs on one
machine designated as the gateway), and use the DB2 Runtime
Client on each end-user's PC).
Both DB2 Connect products are licensed. Which product is
appropriate for your environment depends on the number of
users, your budget, etc.
Good luck,
