Windows SetTimer equivalent routine for Linux?

I am looking for windows SetTimer equivalent routine in Linux, need to port this line to Linux from Windows.

watchdog_timer_id=SetTimer(NULL, 0, 60000, (TIMERPROC)TimerProc);
