sort command output

P: 6
Hi everyone. I am having trouble redirecting the standard output from using the sort command on an existing file. When I do the following sort -t- -k 1.1,2.2 -k 3.2,3.3n $file.txt >temp.txt The output is not the same as it was previously shown on the terminal screen. I think the output for the second part of the sort command is being directed to temp.txt. I can not find a way for both sort commands to be performed and then the output saved to a file. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks, Octavia.
