regarding Structure

hai,
i have to write a common function in C to write the strucuture values in a text file.this function must be comaptible to write any strucuture given as input.i mean that function can get any sized structure.it should detect the datatype and then accordingly use the correct %d or %c...and write it in a file...please help me regarding this...
