Class declarations

It is widespread knowledge that one can declare a class in a .h file in
order to create a function signature without including that class'
header. For example:

//class b.h

class a;

class b {

bool f(const a &other);
};

I am having trouble doing the same thing with a typedef, however:

//class c.h

class c {...};
typedef c OtherClass;

//class d.h
class OtherClass;

class d {
bool f(const OtherClass &oc);
};

Is there any way to declare a type in a similar manner as a class
without including the .h file?

You may define simple descendant class OtherClass instead of typedef
in case class c has only default constructor:

class OtherClass:public c{}
