ForwView Insert question

Hi,

If there is a FormView and a Button, the Command property of the button
can be set to Insert.
When the button is clicked, a Command object is built and available on
the FormView_Inserting method.
Is there a way I can invoke the Inserting method without using a Button.
I am looking for some method of the FormView which would allow me the
build the Command object without the need of a Button with Insert as the
Command property.

e.g.

FormView.CollectAndBuildCommandObject();

Thanks for the help.

Steven
