Question on simplifying a bunch of overloaded functions

Hello,

I have a function like this:
public static string DecimalToString(decimal decValue, int
decimalPlaces, bool localizedFormat)
a three additional overloaded version to make some of the parameters
optional.

Now I have the problem, that I would like to have a simlar function for
the double-type (DoubleToString). So usually I would just copy the
DecimalToString and substitute "double" for "decimal".
To make the use of these funciton a little easier I would write another
function NumberToDecimal and overload it with double and decimal.

....but that would give me a large set of functions....

How can I simplifiy this? Ok, I could let the DoubleToString call
DecimalToString and cast the past double value to decimal, but that
doesn't seem right.

Any ideas?

If a function should work with different types you normally overload it: void myfun(int a){ // do int stuff } void myfun(std::string str){ // do string stuff }
