Fouad,
Frontpage was a web page authorization tool that MS offered years ago.
Quite frankly, it wasn't that good, as it modified the HTML that you
created.
There is also a set of extensions for IIS called FrontPage Extensions
which were used to allow Front Page to modify the files on the remote
server. These extensions are still in use today in some places (I believe
that VS.NET uses them to some degree if you are hooking up to a remote web
server).
A file share is just that, a share that exposes files.
I think the question you are asking is when creating a web site, do you
want to use front page extensions (IIS/remote server) or local files. If
you use local files, you can edit your files locally and debug them locally.
It's much better than connecting to a remote server (but you will have to
move the files to the server, of course).
Hope this helps.
