giving a listview a transparent background

Hi,

Can anyone possibly help me? I need to give a listview a semi-transparent
background. I am setting labels with the following code :

label1.BackColor = Color.FromArgb(40,40,0,0);

and need to create a similar effect for listviews.

I know it can be done somehow as I have seen it, but I am stuck!

Many thanks for your time...
