Build Comment Web Pages...

Is there any way to specify some other XML file for this command?

This is my case: I'm planning to use a program that generates an XML
documentation file FOR VB6 projects in pretty the same way VS does. (The
program is VBDOX). But I need to transform that xml information in HTML
format, ideally with links and all that stuff.
Comment Web Pages would be enough, though.

Is there any command line argument or something like that where I can ask
the program: "Please, build the web page using THIS xml file"?

Thanks a lot

Hi Osvaldo,

First of all, I would like to confirm my understanding of your issue. From
your description, I understand that you need to change the VBDOX output to
HTML instead of XML. If there is any misunderstanding, please feel free to
let me know.

I have downloaded VBDOX and did some research. It seems that VBDOX can only
output to XML. In this case, I think you can write an XSL and apply it to
XML to transform it to the format you need.

HTH.

Hi Kevin, thanks for your help, but unfortunatly i didn't explaine very well.
Let's say I already have an XML file with a structure that emulates or matchs with the Visual Studio C# Documentation format. From there on, I wonder if there is any available XSL or XSLT sheet that I can use to transform that XML data into an HTML format, or at least represent the data in some friendly way.

By the way, VBDOX actually can produce many diferent outputs and I really like the product, but I don't want to use it because of the lack of support and product documentation (isn't it ironic?... don't you think...)

Cheers,
Osvaldo

Hi Osvaldo,

Searching through the web, I didn't find any existing XSLs for us to
transform the Xml document to HTML in a better looking. I'm afraid we have
to write it ourselves.
