event handler disappears (VS.Net and ASP.NET)

Hi, can someone please tell me why when I click on a webform in design mode
to view the the code behind Visual Studio clears my event handlers?

It's really starting to pi$$ me off!! Can I get around this somehow??

Thanks
Mark
