Automatic build number broken?

Hi.

I'm using automatic increase on the assembly build number. Only problem is
it's doesn't increase. Anyone know what might cause this?

In AssemblyInfo.cs:

[assembly: AssemblyVersion("1.0.*")]

Thanks!

/David.

I believe the project system is 'smart' enough to not even invoke the
compiler if none of the sources have changed since the last build. Try
changing a file (like adding a blank line and then deleting it) and the
build again to see if it changes.

Well, I'm working on my code every day and it stopped increasing looong time
ago. So that's not it.

Just for the fun of it, can you try editing the file that has the
AssemblyVersion attribute?

Also what version number did it stop on?

Assuming it worked before, try deleting the obj folder then redo the build.

So is it just the one project that doesn't increment? Can you create a new
console project just like this and see if it works:

using System;
using System.Reflection;

[assembly: AssemblyVersion("1.0.*")]

class TestIncrement {
public static void Main() {
Console.WriteLine(typeof(TestIncrement).Assembly.G etName().Version);
}
}

Then compile and run it multiple times to see if it changes?
