I've just released an article on using Test Driven Development with C# and
Windows Forms. GUI's are often difficult to test, so I thought it might be
of interest.
The article along with the example source code can be downloaded here:

The article text is below. Not sure what it will do to the formatting when

today we've found a critical issue regarding the ListView from
Windows.Forms. it was confirmed on several machines with Win2K and XP.
here's the problem: create a ListView with about 50000 rows. now use task
manager to see the GDI usage of the process. everything seems normal.
now catch the ListView's scroller and start to move it downwards. you have
to hold the constant speed so that the ListView is constantly repainted.
look at the...

I have developed a small API for taking care of a lot of boiler plate stuff
in a multi formed windows application, for example setting up a messaging
thread framework.
New Forms, in the appllication using the API, are subclassed to a Form
contained within the API, and they are controlled (controlled in this
instance means, kept alive, displayed and hidden) at runtime by a thread
whose responsibility is this sole task.
In order to run...

Hi all,
I am not sure if this is the right NG to post this question. If
that's the case please point me to the correct NG.
I have a class library(myLib.dll) which has a class(myClass) which has a
method(myClassMethod) that creates a form with a button on it. The
application that calls the dll is a windows application(myWinApp).
When in myWinApp I do, myClass.myClassMethod, a form is created.

Greetings!
I'm a newbie in Visual C++ .NET (have programmed in Borland C++
and Builder for long) and I am trying to do a very simple thing,
but I'm stuck.
I created an (unmanaged) DLL project with a sample function, and
tried to call it from a ".NET Forms" project. All I get are
"Unresolved External" errors from the Linker!

opened. Example: ZipCode. When the user enters a zipcode that is unknown
this form will open. I don't want users to modify any of this customers
data until they close the zipcode form. Normally this can accomplished
using a modal form, however this prevents me from opening a new copy of...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not.
