Hi
We are having issues with our application, certain portions of it stop
responding while the rest of the application is fine. I am attaching

Hey. Im new to Java, and am having a prroblem with the netbeans IDE.
every time i try to import java.awt.* , I can't use any of the
methods(like they don't exist). I can compile it fine, but when I try to
run it, I get "exception in class main".

a method's kind from its first parameter. 'self' is a de facto
reserved word; 'cls' is a good indicator of a class method
( __new__ is a special case ). The closest to this I could find

Dear all,
I have simulated the windows MULTI application with a java program calling
the SQLTP1DL proc referenced as DB2DARI application, on Linux Intel or
ZLinux. If the proc is NOT FENCED, there is no pb and the program works
fine. If either the proc is FENCED, or FENCED THREADSAFE, I get a SQL1042C,
or the instance crashes on ZLinux (V8.1 FP4).
The proc does a return(SQLZ_HOLD_PROC):

i have a class that i'm trying to understand that overrides
BaseApplicationException's methods as follows. What i dont' understand is
that i have never seen the inherit ":" on a method signature, only on a
class declaration.
Can you explain what is going on here. Is it that the implementation of the
method that is overriding the base's method simply uses the base's
implementation all along (if so, why override the method to begin with?)?

What is the purpose of hiding intead of overriding a method? I have googled
the question but haven't found anything that makes any sense of it.
In the code below, the only difference is that when the Poodle is upcast to
the Dog (in its wildest dreams) it then says "bow wow" where the bernard
always says "woof" (see code). Basically, it appears that I'm hiding the

have an arraylist of custom class instances which I want to search with
an"indexof" where I'm passing an instance if the class where only the
"searched" property has a value. I expected to get the index into the

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
