Managed code will be taken care by GC or you can implement your own
IDisposable. I have not heard of you can configure in IIS. If you know that
do let me know too.

Which is a more correct statement? A destructor runs automatically when an object is deallocated. or A destructor runs automatically immediately before an object is deallocated.

Hi all. In my company we have a webservice that exposes an OBJECT, the company that made the webservice gave us the object dll so that we can have there functionallity (lots of logic). As a part of some changes we made we wanted to remopve the constrain of the dll they gave us, so we started using the class exposed by the webservice and created a special class that will have the functinallity needed for that object.

Hi there, I'm very new to dot net programming and webservices programming. I've managed to create simple webservices so far. Here's my problem: -I've been given a project which needs to have a proprietary algorithm split into a webservice.

hi ng, i try to invoke a webservice-method with an filter-object, that contains value types. if i don´t want to filter the return value of the method, i have to pass a new instance of the filter-object without setting any properties. but the value type-properties can´t be null and the filter is set to 0 (int) or false (bool). therefore i did implement the propertySpecified-pattern like this:

I have a .net framework 2.0 client (Pocket PC) and a .net 2.0 webservice that communicate on the same LAN. The Pocket PC has no problem consuming strings returned from the web service methoeds but I’m unable to receive and a custom object. The error occurs when the PocketPC app casts a returned object (WebServiceServer.objectA) from the webservice to pocketPC.ObjectA (results in InvalidCastExeption). ObjectA is a simple class and is...

Hello all, I suspect that a threading issue is leading to an object being destructed in one thread context while one of its member functions is still running in another thread context. As a means of confirming this, I would like to have the object check if it is alive in the referenced member function and report to me if it is not. However, I cannot think of a standards-compliant way for an object to know that it has been destructed.

Hi, I've ran into some trouble with an overloaded + operator, maybe someone can give me some hints what to look out for. I've got my own custom vector class, as a part of that I've overloaded the + operator by means of a friend function. Everything worked fine until I decided to use a variable array size (by using new/delete), now I get an error when a temporary object is deleted (e.g. after addition), the error occurs at the delete...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
