Does anyone know how to split a string...

I would use a regular expression for this. Check out the classes in the
System.Text.Reg ularExpressions namespace for the RegEx class. You can use
that to split apart the string easily. Once you have the parts, just use
the static ToInt32 method on the Convert class, or the static Parse method
on the Int32 structure to parse the number out, add one to it, and then
recreate the string.

Hope this helps.

A simple regex will do:

string input = "ABC001";

Regex regex = new Regex(@"(\d+)") ;
MatchCollection matches = regex.Matches(i nput);

int number = Int32.Parse(mat ches[0].Value);
number++;

string output = regex.Replace(i nput, number.ToString ("000"));

hi,

you can use a regex for this , "\w+\d+" should be good to start with.

If you do not like them, then string.IndexOfA ny( new char[] {
'1','2',....} ) should help you.

cheers,

The program attached to this message makes the Python interpreter segfault randomly. I have tried both Python 2.2 which came with Debian Stable, and self-compiled Python 2.3.3 (newest I could find on www.python.org, compiled with default options (./configure && make). I'm using the pyPgSQL plugin to connect to a PostGreSQL database, and have tried the Debian and self-compiled newest versions of that as well. I'm running BitTorrent, and...

I have an application that uses SQL. I am writing a new piece to it, so I used the same approach that worked before. I set up a string and add to it, i.e. strMySql = "some Sql Statement" and then strMySql = strMySql + "some other new statement". The program keeps crashing saying I am running an invalid operation. I go to debug.print and copy the contents of the strMySql to the sql window. Sure enough, where the sql statement wrapped...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
