gridview editing

ASP.Net 2.0

When putting a gridview into edit mode I typically do something this in the
gridview.rowEditing event..

gridview.EditIndex = e.NewEditIndex
ReloadData ' Call function that reloads the gridview

My question is is it necessary to reload the whole gridview like that?

I reload the whole gridview again after the edit is saved. I am wondering if
I have the right approach or is there a better way?
