UI suggestion for status website

Hi all,

Does anyone have any 2.0 .NET + AJAX web U.I. suggestion for status posting
website? My application involves displaying status of a running task.
Client brower will query server for status update.

What kind of task is it?

You can look at GMail, it always shows a red message Loading.... at the top
right corner when you requesting something from the server. You can do the
same for your application.
